An Update from Pregnancy Purgatory
Well, baby girl and I both passed our tests today, but all that earned us was two more days of waiting. The induction has now been officially scheduled for 8:00pm on Wednesday. I still hope she moves out on her own, but if not, her eviction begins on Wednesday.

Desperate Times...
With baby girl continuing to delay her arrival, we have tried every home remedy for induction we have heard about or can think of. Most recently, we scooted up to Boulder for an acupuncture appointment. This was not acupuncture in a Western medicine context; it was the real deal. Let's just say that while we paid for the acupuncture, the insults were free. Example: The reason I'm overdue is because "your baby is lazy." And, when I flinched as she jammed needles into my toes, it proved that I'm just "a big baby." A day and a half out from our appointments, neither the needles nor the insults seemed to have enticed baby girl to make her debut.
In news from Western medicine, the baby continues to do well during her non-stress tests and amniotic fluid measurments. We have another round on Monday, and if she's still not here by Wednesday, they will induce. Should the birth wait until Wednesday, she will share her birthday with cousin Nolan and quite possibly with second-cousin Aiden since my cousin Jenni is also scheduled to be induced that day.

Killing Time
Are there any better activities to entertain an overdue woman than bowling and the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo?

Anxiously Waiting
Well, here it is 2:00AM in the morning and I'm wide awake. You know, the little one was supposed to come yesterday but apparently she has a mind of her own!
I wonder how people do it? The uncertainty is the hardest part.
I have to commend my wife. She has been amazing throughout this whole journey. We are certainly looking forward to sharing the good news with all of you just as soon as there is something to share. Stay tuned!

Great With Child
Happily, Christmas is over, and I made it through services with only a handful of jokes about how I was "great with child." Undoubtedly, part of the credit for that goes to the under-recognized fact that geneva robes are quite maternity-friendly. Thanks to Calvin and his friends for their forethought on this one.
