Brought to You by the Number One

Today was brought to us by the number one! Norah had her one year photos taken. Then we went to Aiden's first birthday party. Then we went to Callum's first birthday party (a fellow baby from our Bradley class). Aiden's party was at Monkey Bizness which was filled with loud, running, screaming "older" kids. Norah was so overwhelmed that she sat down and didn't move for almost half an hour. It was evident how much of an only child she is. After Monkey Bizness, we went for pizza and cake. Aiden loved his chocolate cake, but when Norah was given a bite, she promptly spit it back out.

Just Like Daddy

Norah seems to have gleaned her decorating sense from her daddy.

New Toy Box

Looks like we need to get a lock on the wine rack sooner than later.

Nostalgia Runs High

Norah was due this date last year, so I've spent the day remembering the nerves, excitement and uncertainty of one year ago. I couldn't have imagined then how amazing this year would be.

Growth Spurt

When Oma gave us this outfit at our baby shower, I couldn't imagine Norah would ever be big enough to wear it. Instead, she grew into it overnight.

National Western Stock Show

Apparently, Norah didn't think cowboy hats were the right look for her.

She did like the rodeo, though, and she was able to dress the part in the Carhartts Rick and Mariah gave her.

Norah enjoyed the petting zoo - especially the pot-bellied piglets - and one of the pigmy goats enjoyed me - he took a bite of my underwear.

An Apology, Of Sorts

After giving Popos heartburn yesterday, Norah spent much of today watching him through his office window. I think that was her apology.

Baby's Second ER Visit

Since Norah insists on eating inedible items, she reprised her trip to the ER - only this time in an ambulance. Once again, we are grateful that she is ultimately no worse for the wear. We're hoping she grows out of this, but we may need to have her tested for pica.

Tebow Mania

It was perfect that Santa brought everyone Decker Broncos jerseys, so we could wear them for the first play-off game.

Rick took time out from the game to read the Great Plains Partner magazine to Norah.

Decker Family Christmas

The first day all of us Deckers could get together to celebrate Christmas was on Ephiphany. Fortunately, Santa was willing to work overtime and visit us on the 7th.

Nana and Popos gave Norah a portable electric piano that she can keep in her diaper bag. She's a huge fan of it. The rest of us are huge fans of it for the first few minutes and then we wish it had a mute button.

Bridger drew the short straw and was stuck putting Norah's tricycle together. Even though the process involved some cursing, Norah was finally able to enjoy the finished product.

Norah loves reading in the chair Santa brought her.

Your Typical Wednesday

Just another Wednesday giggling and playing with Nana....

Play ball and go searching for it under the chair (looks like those yoga classes are paying off, huh?)...

Visit the horses...

Take a ride on the tire swing...

Try to escape...

Painting with Poop

When I went to get Norah up from her nap yesterday, I found her fingerpainting her crib (and herself) with poop. I will spare you the photos, but I must confess I did take some before spending the next two hours cleaning up. Quite the Norman Rockwell moment.

Happy New Year!

Some friends from Mexico invited us over on New Year's for grapes and homemade posole. (In Mexico, the tradition is to eat twelve grapes and make twelve wishes on New Year's.) Norah loved the posole which Teresita found amazing since her daughter Monse always declines it in favor of mac and cheese.

New Year's Eve

Since Norah received a zoo membership for Christmas, we headed over to see the zoo lights on New Year's eve. Norah was pretty overwhelmed by the whole evening and kept asking to go "night-night." She did stay awake until 8:00pm, though.
