We went bowling with the Schwabs, and it was the first time Norah and Etta had bowled. Etta enjoyed it for a short time and then really wanted a nap. Norah absolutely loved it. While Nick helped her bowl the first few times, she quickly told him that she wanted to do it all by herself and she wouldn't roll the ball until all of us stepped away.

Jump City
Bullock family Christmas was at Jump City this year where the kids (and a few of the non-kids) were able to blow off some steam on the trampolines. It was great to see everyone, especially all of the kids who are getting big so fast.

Merry Christmas!
We had a great Christmas going to church on Christmas eve and then to Steuben's for dinner. The girls were great sports staying up MUCH later than usual. We have practically no pictures from Christmas eve since I'm the family photographer, and I'm otherwise engaged on Christmas eve. But, trust us, they looked cute. When Nick and I got home from church at 1:00am, we set out their Christmas presents which included the "Bear House" - a closet under the stairs that we transformed into a dress-up closet/house for their bears. The girls and Popos had left out snacks for Santa: Boob milk, sparkling water, edamame and red peppers. Thankfully, family was willing to come to us on Christmas day, so we were able to spend the whole day in our pajamas (or less as some of the photos attest).

Happy First Birthday Etta!
Our sweet, loud, happy, hot-headed little girl is no longer a baby! She's one! She celebrated her birthday by going to the zoo with Popos and to her well-baby check. She loved all of the attention from Dr. Bryan and kept giving him cuddles - until the end of the appointment when she told him "all done" and literally showed him to the door. She's the picture of health, except we have to have her tested for a nut allergy. Let's hope it comes back negative; we don't want to deal with that nonsense. For dinner, we had spaghetti and watermelon and Sweet Cow ice cream for dessert. All in all, it was a pretty terrific day for Etta!
Her current stats are:
19 pounds, 12 ounces (50%)
29 3/4 ounces (73%)

Fire
There was an enormous fire across the street from the church today. Amazingly, no one was hurt, but it made for an eventful afternoon

Christmas Decorating
We decorated for Christmas yesterday which meant we took our annual trip to Little Man Ice Cream for our tree. Once home the girls were "helpful."
As we set out the manger, I reminded Norah of the Christmas story. Immediately after telling it, she said, "they want to see the baby." Then, she moved all of the figures into a circle around Jesus and turned Mary and Joseph to face backward. When I asked why she turned them, she said, "His mommy and daddy are putting away groceries."
Jordan and Sarah joined us for a little Christmas decorating. Etta supervised from her high chair and then cleaned up after all of us.
