As part of Norah's birthday prep, we found everything in Denver county made with blue food coloring (thanks Kim for finding the punch!) and then spent Friday making blue Jello and the Elsa dress cake. Bring on the Frozen party!

Sixth Ultrasound
The baby had her sixth ultrasound today. They are still monitoring her for fetal growth restriction, and she continues to measure in the 90% range. Fortunately, they've now realized the irony of this and freed us from future ultrasounds. Today she clocked in at 5 pounds, 1 ounce (89%) which is about 2.5 weeks ahead of schedule. Nonetheless, they don't expect her to arrive ahead of schedule - just to bake to a bigger size. There are no good pictures from today's ultrasound because she had her hands, feet and cord in front of her face (and was using the cord as a pacifier). Since she continues to do somersaults, she's breech again. Hopefully, she'll flip for good in the next few weeks.

Back to Skiing
Norah returned to ski lessons this week, and Etta began them for the first time. It's so fun to see them on skis in spite of their wee ages.

Stock Show
On the way to the stock show this morning, we showed Norah this picture of when we went to the stock show four years ago. It convinced her that we needed to take a family photo in front of a "green tractor" again.
Still #PrinceFarming 12 years after I introduced him to my family at the stock show.
In spite of being run over by a sheep the minute she entered the petting farm, Etta enjoyed the animals. Norah decidedly did not.
All the grandkids looking at the chickens.

New Car Seats
The girls found two new booster seats in my office at church and thought they would try them out before we took them home.

Make Believe
The girls love playing dress up with Etta's new costumes from her birthday. Fortunately, when they handcuff us and take us to jail, they've decided jail is our bed. Don't throw us in the briar patch!

Easy Bake Oven
Norah received an Easy Bake Oven from Nana and Popos at Goose Christmas and spent some time today making her first batch of cookies. Unfortunately, while she was sharing a few of her cookies with others, Etta ate the rest of them, so Norah never got to try the fruit of her labor.

Fifth Ultrasound
Because of my velamentous cord insertion, there's been concern about the baby receiving enough oxygen and nutrition, so she's earned herself an extra helping of ultrasounds. Today we had her fifth. In spite of the concerns that she might have growth restriction issues, she weighed in in the 96% (over 3 pounds - they would only expect her to be 2 pounds at this point). We're so pleased and relieved by her hearty growth. The up-side about all of these ultrasounds is extra glimpses at our sweet little girl. Here's one of my favorite pictures of her.

Happy New Year!
We spent New Year's Eve celebrating with Teresita, Francisco, Jared, and Monse and enjoying Teresita's amazing posole. Then we went home for an early celebration (at 9:13pm), complete with Little Mermaid costume.
